Best practice in frontline & intersecting professions

This workshop provides key considerations when working with people impacted by family and domestic violence who do not work in a specialist family and domestic violence service.

Learning Objectives:

  • Gain an understanding of the opportunities and responsibilities in roles when responding to family, domestic and sexual violence (FDSV)
  • Identify knowledge and understand the skills required to respond safely to victim-survivors and perpetrators of FDSV
  • An introduction to practical tools to
  • identify and map perpetrator patterns
  • recognise and honour adult and child victim-survivor strengths
  • Gain an understanding of making safe referrals
  • Explore FDSV destructive documentation practices
  • How to weave intersectionality sensitive responses throughout worker practice
